Subtraction by addition

Whatup Reader!

Sliding in with a quick one today, inspired by my twin, and very good friend, Laura Jean. If you don’t know of her, now you do, and if you’re not on her email list, what are you even doing?

Yesterday, Laura sent out an email with a hat tip to a specific slang phrase made popular by Gen Z (immediately no to that 6-7 Gen Alpha nonsense), that perhaps you’ve seen a fair amount on the internets: “Touch grass.”

I’d like to piggyback off of that notion, and encourage you to say yes to things that excite you.

Life is heavy, but the world keeps turning, which means you’d you gotta figure out a way to make sure your battery doesn’t hit zero.

I’ve always been of the belief that burnout is far more a product of not doing enough of the things you love/enjoy, as opposed to doing too much of what you don’t like. The two absolutely go hand in hand, but I’m partial to team “add more good” as opposed to taking away the bad. Subtraction by addition, or something like that.

Last Friday I stayed up until 4 am teaching myself how to use ChatGPT to design and code sales pages.

I went on to spend the majority of the weekend, and the better part of yesterday, avoiding work by trying to become a self-taught coder...and I’m not one bit mad about it.

Say yes to things that excite you.

That yes did however mean that I had to say no to volleyball, TWICE, but it be like that sometimes.

Subtraction by addition, or something like that.

And for those scratching their heads, yes, I love volleyball as well, but early morning beach volleyball in the cold months (🤫 53 degrees, on the beach, next to the Pacific, in wet sand, is objectively cold) just doesn’t have the same appeal.

Despite the sleep debt, this coding deep-dive is absolutely recharging my “energy-to-deal-with-all-of-this-bullshit” battery.

Say yes to things that excite you.

Happy Tuesday, Reader.

Maestro out.

PS – Cyber Maestro Monday deals will be here next week. Allllllllso, based on the results of yesterday’s IG Story poll it’s looking like I’ll be running a How to Use ChatGPT for Your Online Business workshop in the near future. Y’all know I love a workshop. Stay tuned!

This past weekend, Lex and I were fortunate enough to have a completely full dining room table (so full that we actually had to bring in the two chairs that we typically have out on the patio). Our dinner table was full, our hearts were full, our bellies were full, and needless to say, our schedules were full. Community involves people, people have...
