March Recap: Birthdays, Believing, and Braiding

Read time: 3 min 0 sec

Whatup Reader!

Woke up to rainy skies yesterday and the day before. Apparently SoCal is getting a head start on those April showers.

If you’re new here, I send these recap emails out on the last day of each month as a way to share the things that this awesome community has told me they’ve found helpful, and also to let you in on things that are coming your way in the next few months. I know you’re busy and I realize I put out a lot of content in a bunch of different places, so if you’re ever worried about missing anything, rest assured that the monthly recap will have all the important stuff in it.

Alright, let’s get into it!

From the ‘Gram:

I only posted a handful of times in March because, well, it just hasn’t been a priority for me, but the posts I put out came from the heart, so feel free to still check ‘em out. Click on any of the images below to be taken to the full post. Apparently, I wear that plaid shirt a lot 🤷🏽‍♂️.

From the Podcast:

New episodes of Maestro on the Mic dropping every Monday. Tune in wherever you listen to your pods. Tap the links below to listen to any of last month’s episodes or click the thumbnails to watch on YouTube and see just how animated I am when I speak ;-)

Thank you to everyone who has left a rating or review, and thank you in advance to anyone who was just guilted into leaving one ;-)

PS – How dope are these thumbnail images?! Shoutout to @docjoeo for crushing it!

From the Business:

I’m currently big focused on serving my current clients and running my coaching programs. Given the political climate and current events, it really just hasn’t been in my heart to run the Intensive, so I’m not running it. I’ll bring it back if and when it feels good. We start our own business to be able to do the things we want, in the way we want, at the times we want. Don’t forget that. To that end, I don’t have anything to sell you right now, but I’m still here. Still watching. Still helping. If you’ve been in need of some help, you can click here to check out the ways I help folks and see if anything would be a good fit.

From my Phone:

I’d say from my nightstand but ya’ll already know I don’t be reading physical books like that. Either way, I’ve been listening to Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and it is just SO good. Even if you’re not an audio book person, if you’re looking for a soothing voice, consider giving it a listen. I’m about halfway through and already know that this is one of those books that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Alrighty, that’s it for March. Bring on April!

Puhlease feel free to hit me back and let me know if you have any podcast episode requests, IG post ideas, or suggestions for new workshops/courses/services. I promise I read every single response.

Maestro out.

Do the thing.

Read time: 2 min 12 sec Whatup Reader! So apparently I’ve started a “taking” series. You can check out Part 1: Take Advantage, and Part II: Taking Care, by smashing those hyperlinks. If you’ve been reading along each week (and even if you haven’t), then let’s proceed on, shall we. Last week I started listening to Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer . I’ve had the audiobook in my queue for well over two years now, and I’ve narrowed the original recommendation down to about five possible...

Read time: 2 min 45 sec Whatup Reader! In last week’s email we chatted about taking advantage of the things you already have and the things that already exist. No need to reinvent the wheel, right? Today I want to riff about taking care of the things we have and that already exist. Now, as I type that last sentence I also feel the need to point out that it is ABSOLUTELY worth taking a moment to look around and see what is ACTUALLY worth fighting for and keeping, but what I’m really trying to...

Read time: 1 min 20 sec Whatup Reader! Take advantage of what you already have, and what is already around you. My inspo for this email: The timer in our home gym. I bought this badboy when I built out my garage gym during COVID, nearly 5 years ago. As we all do when we get something new, when this timer arrived I took advantage of the cool features, utilizing preset EMOMs, and tabatas (but also, fuck a tabata), and set rest periods. Since Lex and I moved into our current place in August of...
