Whatup Reader!

Ahhh, movies used to be so good.

I’ve spent the past two-ish weeks DEEP in the computer and I figured I’d let you in on what’s been monopolizing my time.

I announced it on here a few emails ago, and I’ve been sharing on the ‘Gram that I’m rolling out some new messaging offers, and the reception has been…honestly it’s been amazing.

Folks are excited, folks are happy for me, and folks are telling me how much it’s needed.

It’s really fucking cool. NGL.

I’ve been building out sales pages, creating new intake forms, setting up confirmation emails, coming up with names, differentiating offers, reorganizing the website, creating new appointment types…and in the background, the whole time, I’ve been trying to come up with a single linethat accurately captures what I do as a messaging coach.

Part of the difficulty in trying to distill it down to a single line is not that I have the gift of gab (but for real, thank you mom for this absolute social weapon), it’s that, like so many of you fine folks reading this, I do a lot of different things, and they all contribute in some way to the thing I want to be helping people with.

I can yap (I know what to say), I’ve been in the email marketing game for almost ten years, I’ve been in the online space since 2014, social media was my niche for 6 years, I’ve helped hundreds of people start their personal brand, I know launch strategy, I’ve created dozens upon dozens of courses and webinars, I’m super proficient with all things tech-related, I started this whole thing off as a physical therapist and built a successful online educational brand as The Movement Maestro. But what this next phase of business is pulling me towards is messaging coaching…so WTF exactly do I do as a messaging coach?

Simply stated: I help you speak your people’s language.

How I do that, and where I do that, allows me to draw from all that past life experience (whoever said getting older isn’t great, ain’t doing it right), but the heart and soul of what I do, and honestly, what I’ve done for years through all my various services and offers and content, is help folks speak their people’s language.

It’s no secret that I’ve never loved attaching myself to, or focusing on, financial outcomes when working with my clients. Don’t get me wrong, I want you to make all the money you want to make (knowing your enough is powerful stuff!), and money will absolutely come as the byproduct of a well-functioning system. I’ve just never enjoyed making that data point the front-runner.

So, in trying to come up with my one-line job description, I knew I didn’t want it to be about money, or conversions, or helping you create “offers so good people feel stupid saying no”.

I’m not a copywriter.

I’m not a marketing strategist.

I’m a messaging coach.

I help you speak your people’s language, so you can spend less time recreating Rush Hour, and more time doing what you love: helping your people.

Honestly, y’all, just typing that out got me hype.

When I first ran the messaging help interest poll two weeks ago, I genuinely thought I would just pump out an offer in a week and be off to the races.

Then I sat down and really thought about all the various ways that I know folks need help with their messaging and how best to meet those needs. What started as a single poll turned into 6, yes, 6 new offers, and I’m not one bit mad about it.

A quick peek behind the curtain at what I’m cooking up:

  • Super Simple Messaging Diagnostic
  • Sales Page Messaging Audit
  • The Messaging Meeting
  • Website Messaging Audit
  • The Messaging Month
  • …and one MOAR…

There was no way I was gonna get all of these out in a single week. But three weeks? Totally doable. And that’s what I’m doing.

Next Monday, February 23rd, we’re going live with all the things.

First dibs go to the folks on the interest list (FYI - if you responded to that initial poll, you’re on the list), so if you’re not on the list but want to join the cool kids, just smash the Maestro Green button below and you’ll be automatically added.

Alrighty, this is getting long.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you.

Cheers to good movies and speaking your people’s language.

Happy Tuesday, Reader.

Maestro out.

Read time: 7 min 9 sec Whatup Reader! No fun story to set the scene today. I've been deep in the computer finishing up the rebrand of my second podcast and its associated website. MOAR on that next week. BIG stoked. Today we're once again talking about, you guessed it, the website messaging audit! If you've been with me for the past 16 months or so, you know that post-election was a tough time. It forced me to reflect on what I was building, making, and doing, and whether it was what I would...

Read time: 6 min 58 sec Whatup Reader! In full transparency, what follows is an email that I sent out last week to a subset of my full emailing list, more specifically, the subset who had specifically expressed interest in messaging help. I decided to share it with you, my full list, for this Tuesday's Maestro Mail because I firmly believe that if you're excited about something, and you want to use that something to help people, you should talk about that something. So here we are. (Big thank...

So, every few years, the question, “Is Instagram dead?” starts circulating and usually coincides with a generalized aversion to posting. No, Instagram is not dead. Yes, there's something to be said about the burnout that comes from extending effort and getting nothing in return. But I’ve watched people be in a one-sided...
