July Recap: Gstaad, GPT, and Gratitude

Whatup Reader!

Summer is flying by and has me out here feeling like Rose from Titanic:

If you’re new here, I send these recap emails out on the last day of each month as a way to share the things that this awesome community has told me they’ve found helpful, and also to let you in on things that are coming your way in the next few months. I know you’re busy and I realize I put out a lot of content in a bunch of different places, so if you’re ever worried about missing anything, rest assured that the monthly recap will have all the important stuff in it.

From the ‘Gram:

It was another slow month in Instagramland and I ain’t even mad about it. Other projects have demanded my attention, and quite frankly, I don’t really enjoy being on there, and ya’ll know if I don’t enjoy something I ain’t gonna do it. That being the case, I did share two posts that spoke to and sparked my joy. Full transparency, I technically didn’t make either of them (shoutout to Lex for the best Gstaad recap and to Talita for getting me back to my Movement Maestro roots), but collabs still count for something ;-) Tap the images to be taken to the full post.

From the Podcast:

New episodes of Maestro on the Mic dropping every Monday. Tune in wherever you listen to your pods. Tap the links below to listen to any of last month’s episodes or click the thumbnails to watch on YouTube and see just how animated I am when I speak ;-)

Thank you to everyone who has left a rating or review, and thank you in advance to anyone who was just guilted into leaving one ;-)

PS – How dope are these thumbnail images?! Shoutout to @docjoeo for crushing it.

From the Business:

  • My new podcast, ChatGPT Curious, launches next Thursday, August 7th, and I’m so stoked! I’ll be dropping 3 episodes at once because #BingeCulture, and you can check out the trailer right now if you’re interested. The first 3 episodes are as follows:
    • Ep. 1: What You Actually Need to Know About ChatGPT
    • Ep. 2: ChatGPT and the Environment: Energy, Water, and Carbon Emissions
    • Ep. 3: Is ChatGPT Killing Creativity?
  • On Tuesday I had the final call for the inaugural round of Press Publish (my podcast launching program), and ya’ll, this program is everything! When I decided to run Press Publish I wasn’t sure if I was going to run it more than once, and told myself that I’d see how the first round went and then make a decision. Decision made. I am 100% running this thing again. Next cohort will start in the fall, likely mid to late October. Click here to check out the deets and join the waitlist.
  • As you might have guessed I’m very much pulling back on all things Instagram. I’ve decided I’m going to run one last final cohort of the Instagram Intensive this fall. It’s been an amazing run, with 16 rounds and over 500 incredible students. I’m grateful for every single bit of it, but it’s time to move on. I’m gonna run it back one last time this fall (likely mid-late September start date) so if you want to make sure you don’t miss out (and make sure you save the monies), click here to join the waitlist.

Alrighty, that’s it for July. Bring on August!

Puhlease feel free to hit me back and let me know if you have any podcast episode requests, IG post ideas, or suggestions for new workshops/courses/services. I promise I read every single response.

Happy Tuesday, Reader.

Maestro out.

Read time: 2 min 5 sec Whatup Reader! Sometimes I like to sit and think about hypotheticals. I play out made-up scenarios to see how what the butterfly effects might look like. This time, it was about beach volleyball. I spend no less that 6 hours a week playing beach volleyball. I started in early 2020, right before the world shut down, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Lex andI take lessons twice a week. We play pick-up for a few hours every Friday. We’ve taken a last-minute trip to...

Read time: 1 min 53 sec Whatup Reader! First off, BIG thank you for the kind (and enthusiastic) responses to last week’s email. Ya’ll are my people. I wanted to follow up that email with a business lesson that maybe is a non-sequitur, but I don’t even care, because it needs to be said. Ya’ll, if no one has raised their hands and said they want the thing that you want to make, DON’T LAUNCH IT. I’m not saying this because I don’t believe in you, I’m saying this because I believe in math. So...

Read time: 3 min 21 sec Whatup Reader! Sooooo, yesterday the email marketing service formally known as ConverKit sent out an email announcing a significant price increase for all of its users, effective October 15th. People were, understandably and justifiably, pissed. Everyone checking their email on Monday morning. Now, I use ConvertKit. I’ve been a loyal subscriber since 2015. Their platform is actually how you’re receiving this very email. Yes, my price is going up, no, I’m not happy...
